Short answer: BoldSign Essential is free for up to 25 envelopes a month; Signeasy has no free plan after a 14-day trial. BoldSign Growth starts at $15 per user monthly; Signeasy Personal starts at $15 per seat monthly with only five sends. Choose by free sending volume versus paid Personal caps, and bring your own suitable lease.

Best for:

  • Best for free sending volume: BoldSign Essential, with up to 25 envelopes a month (five for personal-email signups until business details are verified).
  • Best for the lowest paid one-sender price with a free tier still available: BoldSign Growth at $15 per user per month (month-to-month), or $5 per user per month billed yearly.

Additional paid tiers (USD; annual rates labeled):

  • BoldSign Business: $25/user/month; $15/user/month billed yearly; unlimited envelopes and templates.
  • BoldSign Premium: $138/month; $99/month billed yearly; unlimited users, 250 envelopes/month, $0.50 per extra envelope.
  • Signeasy Business: $30/seat/month or $240/seat/year ($20/month billed yearly); unlimited sends for signature on the plan features we checked.
  • Signeasy Business Pro: $40/seat/month or $360/seat/year ($30/month billed yearly).

BoldSign's FAQ/JSON-LD "$5 starting price" is its Growth yearly-billing rate, not month to month. The monthly and yearly cards show $15 and $5 for Growth. Signeasy's "Send Unlimited Contracts" banner does not override Personal's five-send monthly cap.

How the pricing models differ

BoldSign Essential includes one sender at no charge. Growth and Business each price per sender and add users at the matching card's rate. Premium has unlimited users but a shared envelope cap. An envelope can contain multiple files, recipients, CCs and fields.

Signeasy prices every plan per seat. Personal, Business and Business Pro are $15, $30 and $40 per seat month to month, or $120, $240 and $360 per seat per year. Personal allows unlimited self-signing but only five contracts sent for signature per month. Do not treat the generic unlimited-contracts banner as unlimited Personal sending.

Subscription-only scenarios, excluding tax and add-ons: one sender on BoldSign Growth is $15/month versus Signeasy Personal at $15/month; BoldSign also keeps Essential free for up to 25 envelopes, while Signeasy requires a paid plan after the trial. Two senders on Growth are $30/month versus two Signeasy Business seats at $60/month. Unit count does not set signature volume; renewals and other documents matter too.

Free plan and trial limits

BoldSign Essential includes 25 envelopes a month, two templates and no additional users; personal-email signups get five envelopes a month until business details are verified. Custom branding is included. Its paid trial is 30 days with no card required.

Signeasy offers a 14-day free trial so you can create, sign and send before choosing a plan. After the trial, there is no ongoing free plan on the pricing page we checked—you upgrade to Personal, Business or Business Pro. Personal remains capped at five sends a month.

A single residential lease can fit a free BoldSign envelope or a Signeasy Personal send if you prepare it carefully. We did not verify page or file-size guarantees, so do not assume every lease package fits one send.

Seats, users and tenant experience

BoldSign says recipients do not need to pay or register, and it supports mobile-browser signing. Senders need licensed accounts; Essential has one.

Signeasy's pricing FAQ states that people you send documents to do not have to pay and need not have a registered Signeasy account to sign. Signeasy lists iPhone, iPad and Android apps on Personal. Do not treat tenant signers as sending seats.

Templates and upload-your-own lease

BoldSign lets you upload a lease, add parties and signing order, place fields and send. It advertises reusable lease, listing and disclosure templates, plus bulk renewal sends from a CSV. Plan limits still apply: Growth has 10 templates; Business and Premium have unlimited. Bulk send starts on Business and Premium at $0.25 per envelope. Do not apply marketing language about unlimited agents or envelopes to every plan.

Signeasy Personal emphasizes signing and sending with Google Workspace and Microsoft apps; team template collaboration is listed on Business and above on the pricing page we checked. Exact Personal template counts beyond the five-send cap were not the focus of this pass. Bring your own suitable lease rather than assuming either tool supplies a state-specific legal library.

Neither a state-by-state lease library nor attorney review was verified for either vendor. Verify any template for your state. For free and state-linked lease starting points, see our free lease agreement template guide.

Integrations

BoldSign automatic backups to Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox, plus HubSpot, start on Business and Premium. Xero is a $5 per organization per month add-on on Growth and above. Salesforce is a Business add-on at $10/user/month, or $21/organization/month on Premium. Zapier, Power Automate, webhooks and a production API are listed under Enterprise API, not ordinary web plans.

Signeasy lists Google Workspace and Microsoft app execution on Personal, with Google Drive and OneDrive sync called out on Business tiers and SharePoint/HubSpot on Business Pro. Property-management suite integrations and full API rates were not confirmed in this pass; label those not verified rather than unsupported.

Which should you pick?

  • You want free monthly sends: BoldSign Essential (25 envelopes a month, or five until a personal-email account is verified).
  • You want the cheapest paid one-sender plan that still pairs with a free tier: BoldSign Growth at $15/user/month ($5/user/month billed yearly).
  • You already budget $15/seat and send five or fewer contracts a month on mobile: Signeasy Personal at $15/seat/month ($120/seat/year)—remember the five-send cap.
  • You need unlimited Signeasy sends plus team tools: Signeasy Business ($30/seat/month) or Business Pro ($40/seat/month).
  • Your landlord suite already covers leases and e-sign: check that included service before buying either standalone tool. See also best lease e-signature software for landlords and BoldSign vs Signaturely.

FAQ

Is BoldSign cheaper than Signeasy?

Entry paid month-to-month pricing is $15 per user on BoldSign Growth and $15 per seat on Signeasy Personal. BoldSign also offers Essential free for up to 25 envelopes a month, while Signeasy has no free plan after its 14-day trial. Feature limits differ: Growth pools 50 envelopes per user per month; Personal allows five sends a month.

Does BoldSign have a free plan?

Yes. Essential includes up to 25 envelopes a month, two templates and one sender, with personal-email signups limited to five envelopes a month until business details are verified. The paid trial is 30 days with no card required.

Does Signeasy have a free plan?

Signeasy offers a 14-day free trial. After the trial, the pricing page we checked requires a paid Personal, Business or Business Pro plan. There is no ongoing free sending tier comparable to BoldSign Essential.

Is Signeasy Personal unlimited sending?

No. Personal is capped at five contracts sent for signature per month, even though the page promotes unlimited contracts elsewhere. Unlimited self-signing on Personal is separate from that send cap. Business and Business Pro advertise unlimited sends for signature.

Can I e-sign a lease with BoldSign or Signeasy?

BoldSign explicitly describes uploaded lease workflows, reusable lease templates and bulk renewals. Signeasy describes send-and-sign contracts generally, including mobile apps, so using your own lease is an application of that workflow, not a verified state-law guarantee. Bring a suitable lease and verify it for your state.

Do I need a seat for each tenant who signs?

No. BoldSign says recipients do not need to pay or register. Signeasy's pricing FAQ says signers do not have to pay and need not have a registered account. Sending seats are for people who send documents, not for tenant signers.
