RentRedi is a landlord app for rent collection, screening, listings, leases and maintenance, sold as one flat subscription with unlimited units. The question behind "is RentRedi legit" is usually whether it's a real company you can trust with tenant payments. Here is what the public record shows.
Short answer: Yes, RentRedi is a real, established company. It says it was founded in 2016 by Ryan and Ed Barone, and it has been BBB accredited since October 30, 2023. Tenant payments run through its app, with deposits it says take 2–3 business days. Its subscription carries a 30-day money-back guarantee, not a free trial.
Best for:
- Best for landlords who want one flat price: RentRedi, because every plan covers unlimited units, tenants and teammates.
- Best for low tenant ACH fees: RentRedi, because its help center lists $1 per ACH payment.
- Best for trying a free plan first: a free tool instead; see RentRedi alternatives.
RentRedi at a glance

Every plan and fee, including the 6-month term and screening, is on our RentRedi pricing page, so we don't repeat it here.
Is RentRedi a real company?
These are the public facts we could check:
- Founders and age: RentRedi's About page says Ryan Barone (co-founder and CEO) founded it in 2016 with co-founder Ed Barone. Its BBB profile also lists 2016 as the year the business started.
- BBB accreditation: RentRedi's BBB profile shows it as accredited since October 30, 2023, filed with BBB of Upstate New York.
- Funding and scale (company claims): The About page says RentRedi has raised more than $17M. The homepage says 300,000+ landlords and tenants use it and cites Inc. 5000 recognition two years in a row. We didn't verify these figures independently.
- Partnerships (company claims): The homepage calls RentRedi the official property management platform for BiggerPockets and lists member access for the National Association of REALTORS®.
- Apps: RentRedi links to iOS and Android apps from its site.
How tenant payments work
RentRedi's payments help article says tenants pay $1 per ACH payment and 3.1% + $0.30 on cards, and that payments typically take 2–3 business days to reach the landlord. Landlords can cover the ACH fee or limit tenants to ACH. The homepage also says tenants can report rent to TransUnion, Experian and Equifax.
For the full fee list and what a year costs at different plan terms, see RentRedi pricing.
What complaints are about
BBB's complaint page for RentRedi includes billing, product and service complaints. The published ones we read mostly concern payments: linking a bank account, convenience fees tenants didn't expect, and support response times. Complaint counts change often, so check the BBB profile yourself before you sign up.
None of that suggests RentRedi isn't a legitimate business. It does mean you should explain the tenant fees up front and test a small payment before your first full rent cycle.
Who RentRedi fits
- Landlords with a few to a few dozen units who want one flat price instead of per-unit billing.
- Landlords whose tenants are comfortable paying in a mobile app.
- Anyone who wants listings, screening and rent collection in one place without owner accounting.
Who it doesn't fit
- Landlords who want a free plan. RentRedi has none; TurboTenant, Avail and Innago do.
- Property managers who need owner statements and distributions. A full suite fits better; see RentRedi vs DoorLoop.
How we checked

Company size, funding, awards and partnerships are RentRedi's own claims, and we say so where they appear. We haven't used RentRedi with our own rentals. RentRedi doesn't pay us for this page.
