RentRedi and Baselane both collect rent online, but they're built around different things. RentRedi is a landlord app with one flat price ($12 a month billed yearly, for unlimited units) covering listings, screening, rent collection, maintenance and accounting. Baselane is a banking and bookkeeping platform: its Core plan is free, and it works best when rent lands in Baselane accounts opened through its partner bank.

Baselane is a financial technology company and is not an FDIC-insured bank.

Best for: RentRedi suits landlords who want one app to run tenants and maintenance at a fixed price. Baselane suits landlords whose main goal is separate bank accounts per property and clean books at no monthly cost.

Everything below comes from each company's own pricing pages and help center, checked October 28, 2026. We haven't used either product with our own rentals.

Quick verdict

  • Pick RentRedi if you want a full landlord app with listings, screening, maintenance, messaging and accounting. You'd rather pay a predictable flat fee, and you like faster deposits (2–3 business days) and a $1 tenant ACH fee. Visit RentRedi
  • Pick Baselane if you want free property-level bank accounts with bookkeeping and Schedule E reports built on the same transactions. Rent collection is part of that, and ACH is fee-free when rent goes into a Baselane account. Visit Baselane

Pricing

RentRedi's three billing terms all include the same features. Monthly is $29.95, the 6-month term is $20 a month, and the annual plan is $12 a month, which is $144 a year. The price doesn't change with unit count, so a 2-unit landlord and a 40-unit landlord pay the same. RentRedi doesn't offer a free trial. It bills when you subscribe and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Baselane Core costs nothing a month and includes banking, bookkeeping, automated rent collection and Schedule E reports. Smart costs $20 a month on an annual plan, with a 30-day trial. It adds AI auto-tagging, receipt matching, balance sheets, cost segregation, shared access, priority support and 2-day rent deposits. See Baselane pricing for the full breakdown.

Rent collection fees and deposit times

RentRedi charges tenants $1 per ACH payment and 3.1% + $0.30 per card payment. Debit cards are charged as cards. You can turn off cards to accept ACH only, or choose to cover the fees yourself. Payments typically deposit in 2–3 business days.

Baselane's pricing table lists the tenant ACH fee as $2–$5, waived when rent is deposited into a Baselane account. Its FAQ describes a $2 ACH fee that the landlord can cover or pass to the tenant. Cards cost the tenant 3.49%. Rent deposits take 5 business days on Core and 2 on Smart.

Five units, rent paid by ACH 12 times a year (60 payments):

SetupSubscriptionACH feesTotal a year
RentRedi (annual plan)$144$60 ($1 × 60)$204
Baselane Core, rent into Baselane$0$0$0
Baselane Core, rent into an outside bank$0$120–$300 ($2–$5 × 60)$120–$300

On a $1,500 card payment, RentRedi's fee is about $48.30, because it grosses up 3.1% + $0.30 so you receive the full rent. Baselane's 3.49% comes to $52.35. These totals are our arithmetic from each page's published fees.

For most small landlords, Baselane is cheaper on cost alone, if you're willing to bank with it. RentRedi's $144 a year buys tenant and property management tools that Baselane's pricing page doesn't list.

Banking and bookkeeping

This is where the two differ most.

Baselane opens unlimited property-specific checking and savings accounts through Thread Bank, Member FDIC. It doesn't charge account-opening, maintenance, minimum-balance or ATM fees. Outgoing wires cost $15 (waived at $50,000+ in combined balances), mailed checks $2 and checkbooks $15. Transactions are tagged to properties, and Core includes a tax package with a Schedule E report. FDIC coverage on Baselane accounts is pass-through and depends on conditions in Thread Bank's terms. We haven't reviewed the full Deposit Agreement.

RentRedi doesn't offer bank accounts. Rent goes to the bank accounts you connect, and its pricing FAQ says connected bank accounts are unlimited. Its plan includes accounting, and its payments FAQ says you can export to QuickBooks.

Tenant and property management

RentRedi covers the tenant side from start to finish: listings, applications with tenant-paid screening, maintenance, messaging, automatic late fees and mobile apps. Its pricing page lists 24/7 chat and live phone support (9–5 Eastern).

Baselane's pricing page covers automated rent, reminders, late fees, a tenant portal with auto-pay, and $24.99+ screening. It doesn't list maintenance tools or listing syndication. If you need those, you'll want another tool alongside it.

Using both

Some landlords combine them: they manage tenants in RentRedi and keep a Baselane account for each property as the deposit account. If you do that, you pay RentRedi's fees, not Baselane's, on rent collected through RentRedi, and you get Baselane's bookkeeping on the deposits. We haven't confirmed that the two connect directly, so expect to tag some transactions by hand.

How we checked

On October 28, 2026, we read RentRedi's pricing page and its payments FAQ in the help center, and Baselane's pricing page, including its fee table, FAQ and banking disclosures. The 5-unit and card-fee figures are our arithmetic from published fees. Where Baselane's fee table ($2–$5) and its FAQ ($2) differ, we show both. We haven't used either product with our own rentals. Both companies run affiliate or referral programs, which played no part in this comparison.
